Emma Johnston Fund Grant
In 1928, Emma Johnston left a bequest to Redstone Presbytery, if and when funds are available for distribution the following guidelines will apply:
- The funds are to be used for the development of new or for the further development of an established outreach mission or evangelism ministry in a church or cluster of churches of the Presbytery of Redstone (no longer restricted to Fayette County alone). These funds may be used as seed money and may be re-applied for up to five (5) times.
- New or further development of an outreach mission is understood to be: the establishment of new congregations, outreach programs which benefit the community, and interdenominational and/or interfaith collaborative mission.
- New or further development of an evangelism ministry is understood to be: the establishment of new congregations, street ministry, evangelism training in a church or clusters of churches, or other programs which would facilitate the spreading of the gospel.
- We do not understand these mission outreach or evangelism funds to be used for additions and/or repairs to building or grounds that do not involve community outreach/mission.
- To apply a Session or Sessions should submit a fully developed plan for evangelism or mission outreach by completing the attached application.
- Current participation in the First Fruits program of the Presbytery is required.
