Stewardship Resources
Stewardship Conferences--An annual conference sponsored by the Presbyterian Foundation and the Presbyterian Mission Agency(Stewardship Kaleidoscope).
Stewardship Skits--Enclosed are also some "skits" that have been provided by Judy Koontz and Rev. Kathy Shirey and used at Community United Presbyterian Church.
Stewardship Networking--It is our intention to provide an opportunity(at the close of the September presbytery meeting) for any elders serving as key leaders in stewardship in your congregation to meet with similar folks from other congregations just to share and talk about what they are thinking/planning in order that we might be learning from each other.
Study/Program resources--In addition to numerous online resources, there are some resources and programs available in the Resource Center, my library or among other congregations.
Devotional materials--I have attached a copy of a series of devotions on stewardship that were written by Ruth Fisher from the First Presbyterian Church, Johnstown. Enclosed is the link to the pdf version of those materials.
Presbyterian Foundation Resources--Through the Presbyterian Foundation, compact discs of sample stewardship sermons will be made available at the September meeting of the Presbytery of Redstone. Additional resources on financial assessment and online giving are also available for consideration through the foundation.
Pulpit Exchange/Guest Preacher--Sometimes it is helpful to hear from someone else on a typical "stewardship Sunday." In some stewardship programs, this is a standard feature in a "consecration Sunday." Perhaps, you might agree to exchange pulpits with another pastor from a nearby congregation or you might request a guest preacher to specifically focus on the subject. If I am available on that particular Sunday, I would be glad to fulfill that role.
Stewardship Coach--Perhaps, you just need to talk through with someone what you are thinking and planning and what your needs are. Within our own presbytery, there are colleagues who would be willing to serve in that role for you on a short-term basis. If you would like assistance identifying someone for that purpose, please let me know.
