The District I Committee for Congregational Development established a memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Rev. Dr. Kenneth Hooten who at the time of his death was serving as pastor of the United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington and was serving as a member of the District 1 Committee.
Ken was a valuable part of the District 1 committee and he had a passion for music and worship. The District 1 Committee established this scholarship to be used by members of the Presbytery of Redstone to attend a music event such as Pine Springs Camp, Presbyterian Association of Musicians conference, and etc. It was the intent of the District 1 Committee in establishing this scholarship that it would be open for children and youth.
This scholarship is open to the entire Presbytery of Redstone, but primary consideration will be given to persons of District 1.
